It has taken a week for me to write this review as it has taken that long to process how Over-the-Top AMAZING was our experience at Greg’s home! Upon arriving, Greg escorted us on a tour of his masterpiece, and literally, our jaws were dropping to the ground, and we repeated “Wow Wow Wow” for about 5 minutes straight (and then we just kept saying it in our heads!) My friend Emanuela wrote, “He built a Magical Castle to which we were enamored and enchanted. The beauty of his historic relics, art and artifacts transported us to a bygone era.” Morning breakfast was robust, yummy and healthy (thank you, Carlos!); the beds and towels were super cozy, and everything were curated to perfection. Don’t even get me started on that pool, where we delighted as mermaids (literally), AND the delicious rooftop space where I practiced yoga and meditation. We each felt like princesses, including my pup Jenny Lynn (her favorite thing was the sand “beach”) Thank you, Greg, for opening your home so that we could live a fairy tale come true!
Greg's house is incredible, like staying in a historical novel. Breakfast was included and lovely. It's well located and Uber is cheap. You can hang by the stunning pool or enjoy the incredible rooftop, would 100% love to stay again!
This home was such an amazing experience, a beautiful garden, pool, unbelievable rooftop terrace and unique decor. In unit washer and dryer was such big plus! Only a 15 minute walk to the centro. Delicious breakfast made every morning. I loved my experience at this home and highly recommend a stay here.
Wooow! Incredible atmosphere of the house. It is like a journey back in time. In addition to careful details such as dimmable lighting, ambient speakers for the different areas of the house, etc. Totally recommendable!
Fascinating home, meticulously decorated with unique religious artifacts. Our favorite part of the home was the beautiful kitchen, perfect for entertaining, adjacent to the pool and backyard palapa.
Well, what can be said about this amazing manor that the pictures don't already communicate? I'm the kind of person who wants my accommodations to be a total experience, and this place is hands-down the most remarkable Airbnb I've ever stayed at. I loved the open-air shower, loved the outdoor pool, and the rooftop! Also the kitchen is expansive and around every corner there's another treasure to be admired. 10/10 would stay again. Simply extraordinary.
This house is absolutely amazing. A true inspiration to be in and Greg was an amazing host. The photos simply do not do justice to the experience you'll have here. The location is perfect, the state itself is gorgeous, and detail of this space makes your trip even more enjoyable. Whether you stay at the home for relaxation or enjoy a good wind down space or book after long days of exploring, this location is 5 stars all day.
We were impressed with the place, even that the photos are very good, in person it’s quite striking. We loved the house! It’s so so special. Every corner and every furniture has been thought of in detail. A plus, the towels are super fluffy and soft! Also the bed sheets super soft ;) Greg and his friendly team made us feel at home.
A unique experience that delighted us. The house is amazing, out of the ordinary and we felt good there. Probably our best place to stay in Mexico! If you can get there, don’t hesitate, it’s a real treasure.
This place is insane - truly one of a kind and a great place to hang out, we barely made it out during the day because the pool and roof are just so inviting, beautiful and comfy. And the shower at the main bedroom is the most luxurious ever. 100% recommended
This place is incredible! If you are in Merida, you will not want to miss out on staying with Greg! His home is filled full of detail and an overall experience in itself. The courtyard between front and back buildings, outdoor shower and roof top were dreamy. The kitchen and large sitting area was perfect for gathering and early morning coffee. The artwork is beyond words, amazing. Carlos the property manager made us breakfast each morning and provided great local recommendations for food and activities. Greg's vision to build out his dream home is simply remarkable. The house has strong catholic roots and was very special. We have traveled a good amount and never experienced something like Greg's house. We cannot wait to come back and stay!
Staying at this property was the best decision we could have made. The environment is superb, just what we were looking for while visiting Merida. The pool area is extraordinary, and it was the best place to hang out doing nothing. We wish our stay would have been much longer. We definitely will go back to this house, an absolute "no-brainer".
This is not a conventional stay, but it is probably the best place to stay in the area. It is a dream come true.
First of all, I love Merida. I can’t stop talking about it to anyone who will listen. And the first thing I say is “You have to see this incredible house we stayed in.” I’ll have to come back again because I spent so much time here that I hardly got to know Merida. Poolside hangs, leisurely breakfasts, open air showers, terrace talks, flawless zoom backgrounds and internet connection. The light, the air, the plant life. I mean, obviously you’ve seen the pics, this place is gorgeous, but just wait until you see it. You won’t wanna leave.
This place is truly unique. As an avid traveler, you really don't get to stay in a museum/castle often, especially one in the middle of a Mexican city. So, so fun and different. The place is huge and there is so much to look at. Do it for the experience.
Unbelievable experience in this historic castle. It felt like you rented an entire castle to yourself with private chef, massages under the palapa. Extremely well design and massive residence. It was difficult to leave as it provides true peace and comfort of having your own spa. Pampered was exactly what happened.
WOOOOW :) this is probably the most interesting and memorable experience we have ever had renting houses around the world. If you are thinking about it, stop - and just do it, you won't regret! It's such a cool house, huge, spacious, clean, but what made it special and unforgettable for us is the amount of tiny details that match the whole "theme". When we just got there, I thinking we spent about an hour just walking around the property, looking at all details, decorations, walls, rooms, garden, terraces, etc. and just being amazed by everything! So, I want to thank everyone for this opportunity, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to everyone, and hopefully we'll be back one day again!
What can I say? Second time we have stayed. I absolutley LOVE this home. Its like going back in time. The BEST place of any airbnb, actually ANY home ive ever stayed in. Its a memory you will never forget. If its open, grab it.

Don’t look at another place if this is available. Absolutely incredible home/castle/Airbnb. It’s an experience in itself and the photos don’t even do it justice. I can’t imagine how much time Greg has spent curating every single minute detail in this place. If you appreciate architecture, design, horticulture, history, art, creativity etc. then this house will blow you away. Greg was super helpful and the WiFi is fantastic. It’s only a matter of time before this house winds up on AirBnb’s top stays globally.

This place is incredible. I mean, when would you ever get an opportunity to stay in a palace/museum. The decoration and detailing that went into this place is top caliber. The place itself is impeccably clean and the house manager Carlos is simply the best. He took care of all of our needs, and even went above and beyond to cook and serve us a 3 course dinner on New Year’s Eve! This place is like stepping back into time and living like a royal person. A true experience!
This is the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at for the value. This place is stunning. No words or photos can do it justice. We were/are absolutely blown away by this magnificent property.
Absolutely breathtaking home! It’s huge and so incredibly gorgeous. The attention to detail is superb. You will truly feel like you’re staying in your own private castle. You should probably plan an extra day or two just to enjoy the home. We had a hard time wanting to leave to go explore when it’s such an incredible place to explore all on its own.
